First Post

A new year and our first family Blog! Welcome to friends and family who are seing this for the first time!

We have had a wonderful 2007, and are looking forward to lots of changes in 2008! Joe finished his general ed last year and has just starting his "official" Nursing classes. He got fitted for scrubs (very cool) and already has a huge duffle bag with lots of medical "stuff" in it. Emily, Erik and I have become his guinneapigs for the time being so that he can practice taking blood pressure and do physical assessments. There is one stipulation.....No needles allowed!!!

I am still plugging along in school- but with new momentum to graduate in September with my BA in Philosophy/Sociology. I am ready for grad school!!! I want to get into a joint JD/PhD program if possible, so I have started applying to law schools. I am taking the LSAT February 2nd. It is a bit nerve racking, but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I am glad to be there! Some of the schools under consideration are USD, Stanford and a few other schools in California. On the East coast, I am hoping to get into Columbia realistically- but there is always Harvard and Yale to keep you inspired!

The kids are just great! Sami and Jared are happily living in Rochester, NY. We hear the weather is cold, but Samantha seems to have already adjusted to the change. They are both flying out Feb 16th for a visit to San Diego. We are really looking forward to seeing them!!!

Erik and Emily are terrific as usual- enjoying school and friends. Erik has become a very accomplished guitarist and still enjoys being on the computer. Emily is in first grade and spends her free time swimming or dancing and singing. She is quite the little entertainer...

Not much else to report for now, but I look forward to hearing from all of you very soon!
